Description

Hot Yoga is strongly influenced by a philosophy that suggests practicing yoga in an artificially heated environment will more quickly and effectively generate the benefits associated with a yoga practice. Similar to Bikram yoga, it is a style of yoga that consists of 26 specific poses practiced for 60/75/90 minutes in a room heated to near 105 degrees with  approximately 40 percent humidity.

Hot yoga is associated with many benefits ranging from improved flexibility, strength, cardiovascular conditioning, increased blood circulation, as well as detoxification and stress reduction.

Why is the room heated?

The artificial heat and humidity primes the body for elimination of toxins through activation of the lymphatic system, and increases blood circulation, which supports the metabolic processes of organs and glands. 

It’s good for your muscles.  It allows your muscles to relax and stretch so that not only can you treat pain and discomfort, but also prevent it.

In addition, the heart rate will increase when activity is done in the heat, which is thought to increase cardiovascular activity and metabolism thereby aiding in toning of the body and weight loss.

At Body Shop we believe in going at your own pace, Hot Yoga is challenging, but we want to make sure it’s available to anyone that wants to attend.  We believe in going at your own pace and listening to your body.  If it starts to feel to difficult?  Take a rest.
